Careers/Internships

Postdoctoral Research Scientist – Allergy & Asthma Research

Our independent, non-profit research institute is currently seeking highly motivated researchers for immediate openings in the research group of Dr. Alessandro Sette.

Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary group of researchers dedicated to the identification and characterization of protective T cell epitopes from a variety of complex antigens, such as allergens, viruses, and bacteria.

RESEARCH AREA

We are interested in understanding the immune response to common allergens and the development of allergic asthma. This area utilizes the tools of bioinformatics-based epitope predictions to identify correlates of immune responses through use of PBMC samples from allergic individuals and transgenic animal models. Emphasis will be placed on the study of T cell responses evoked by common allergens, including the type and nature of allergens and epitopes recognized and the phenotype of T and B cells induced.

Projects will encompass potential immunoregulatory mechanisms as well as involve participation in collaborative research for allergen vaccines and therapeutics.

REQUIREMENTS

Ideal postdoctoral candidates will have strong backgrounds in immunology, molecular biology and biochemistry with an emphasis on allergy, immunochemistry and/or cellular biology/immunology methods.

Interested individuals should send their curriculum vitae and the names of three references to careers@liai.org
