A postdoctoral research scientist position is open in the laboratory of
Dr. Shane Crotty in the area of viral vaccine immunology. The laboratory
studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating CD4 T cell
differentiation and functions, particularly follicular helper CD4 T cell
regulation of the development of long term antibody and memory B cell
responses (Science 2009; Immunity 2011; Annual Review of Immunology
2011; Immunity 2008; J. Virology 2009; Nature 2003). The goal of the
laboratory is to elucidate the immunobiology of successful vaccines and
protective immune responses and apply those principles/mechanisms to the
development of future human vaccines. This is done by direct
examination of antigen-specific immune responses and follicular helper
CD4 T cells, using cutting edge mouse and human experimental systems.
Ideal postdoctoral candidates will have a strong background in
immunology with emphasis on cellular and molecular immunology; but
expertise in infectious disease research will also be considered. Submit
your Curriculum Vitae and three references to: The La Jolla Institute
for Allergy and Immunology (LIAI), Attn: Shane Crotty, Ph.D., Associate
Professor, Division of Vaccine Discovery. Or email:

LIAI is an independent non-profit research institutelocated on the UCSD campus.
LIAI is an equalopportunity employer, and women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
