Type 1 Diabetes Center Donations

cell-bullet1.jpg "The power of philanthropy helps us to pursue promising, innovative research paths that are not covered by traditional funding.  We are able to recruit world-renowned faculty and the top post-doctoral researchers and provide them with funding to support the start-up of their laboratories.  For example, with private funding we can acquire sophisticated new equipment and cutting edge technologies crucial for our Institute researchers to continue on a path of breakthrough and discovery and finding cures faster."
— Mitch Kronenberg, Ph.D., President, Chief Scientific Officer

BRINGING HOPE TO FAMILIES

Our research and breakthroughs bring hope to families of those affected by Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes. Your donations will further the study and lead to potential treatments & cures for type 1 Diabetes.

FELLOWSHIPS

Postdoctoral fellowships at La Jolla Institute facilitate interactions between clnicians and researchers including seminar series and scientific exchange.  This training enhances clinical translation and helps to guide laboratory work.  Your contributions have a direct impact on allowing this "bench-to-bedside" training to take place.

"The mission of my research team is to develop a valid immune-based intervention
for type 1 diabetes and see it through from bench to bedside."

Matthias von Herrath, M.D.
