December 3, 2009 - NEW FACULTY WELCOME RECEPTION
The La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology welcomed several new faculty members to our Institute in an invitation only event from 5:30pm - 7:30pm on Thursday, December 3, 2009. We welcomed Anjana Rao, Ph.D. (Harvard Medical School), Patrick Hogan, Ph.D. (Harvard Medical School), Joel Linden, Ph.D. (University of Virginia), Catherine "Lynn" Hedrick, Ph.D. (University of Virginia) and Nunzio Bottini, M.D.(University of Southern California). October 29, 2009 - TYPE 1 DIABETES CENTER DEDICATION
The dedication program included a dedication for The William N. Elam, Jr., M.D. Discovery Wall and the Type 1 Diabetes Cetner. Those in attendance for The William N. Elam, Jr., M.D. Discovery Wall included Mitchell Kronenberg, Ph.D., President and Scientific Director of The Institute; Kevin Keller and Falko Kuester, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Jacobs School of Engineering, UCSD. 

Matthias von Herrath, M.D., a La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology member and the Director of the Type 1 Diabetes Center was present for the Type 1 Diabetes Center dedication in addition to David Winkler and George S. Eisenbarth, M.d., Ph.D., Executive Director of the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, University of Colorado, Denver.

November 1, 2008 - 20TH ANNIVERSARY GALA CELEBRATION
The La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology hosted our 20th Anniversary Gala Celebration on November 1, 2008. Proceeds benefitted type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research and cancer research.  Thank you to our Co-Chairs Michael and Paula Martin, and to all of our friends and supporters who helped us celebrate.
