Since 2001, Matthew DeVol has served as LIAI's Director of Finance Accounting and is a member of the Institute's Management Team. He is responsible for the supervision and management of LIAI's Accounting Department and oversees administrative functions related to financial reporting, grants administration, payroll, cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and cash management.

Prior to joining LIAI, DeVol worked over 18 years as a financial executive for several international and domestic nonprofit organizations, including ones focused on maternal child healthcare, education, and U.S. aid projects in lesser-developed countries. He is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. Degree in accounting from Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Dr. Kimishige Ishizaka served in the dual role of President and Scientific Director of LIAI until his retirement in 1996. He is currently President Emeritus of LIAI and also on the LIAI Board of Directors as a Director Emeritus.
