Leo Ferrnandez serves as the Director of the Imaging Facility and is responsible for all flow cytometry and microscopy technologies at LIAI.  Mr. Fernandez works closely with LIAI's research investigators and faculty to ensure that LIAI remains at the cutting edge of these expanding technologies. 

Mr. Fernandez performed his undergraduate studies in Biology at UCSD and his graduate studies at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico.  Prior to coming to LIAI in 2006, Mr. Fernandez directed the flow cytometry core facility at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla  and later owned and operated a flow cytometry reference laboratory for ten years.  He has been a member of the Society for Analytical Cytology for over twenty years.

Dr. Kimishige Ishizaka served in the dual role of President and Scientific Director of LIAI until his retirement in 1996. He is currently President Emeritus of LIAI and also on the LIAI Board of Directors as a Director Emeritus.
