Deborah E. LeRoy serves as Director, External Relations and Development Services at LIAI and is a member of the Institute's Senior Management Team. She is responsible for major gift prospect development and relationship support and strategic management of all areas of External Relations operations.

Before joining LIAI, Deborah was Director of Advancement Services at the Salk Institute. Previously, she served as Senior Consultant at Sage Software, Inc, providing database conversion and implementation consulting to a wide range of non-profit clients nationwide. Prior to joining Sage Software, Deborah spent over ten years at UC San Diego, with her last position as Director of Development Services. Deborah holds a B.S. from the University of Kansas.

Dr. Kimishige Ishizaka served in the dual role of President and Scientific Director of LIAI until his retirement in 1996. He is currently President Emeritus of LIAI and also on the LIAI Board of Directors as a Director Emeritus.
